Re: our $10 million compensation for Parklands,This is all deja vue?
Remember Mike Kelly the chief executive, Office of Racing during the merger to form RQ. He was to monitor the control body performance & protect each code, but was, in fact (Margaret White enquiry covered his failings extensively) dancing to Bentley's tune not to the stakeholders requests or concerns. His integrity
was quite rightly questioned.

Now has someone absconded with our $10 million compensation for Parklands or has it been diverted elsewhere? Has anyone been flaunting $10 million lately?

Public confidence in the system is low. I dont accept "that's confidential", I'll get back to you on that" Not good enough for
our executives representing US. I feel the welfare of the minor greyhound code has not been addressed for over 8 years and I see
no transparency.

compliments of QGBOTA.
"The ever growing Harness scandal When the Greyhound Industry scandal surfaced RQ was quick to condemn the code both publicly and financially. In the interest of fairness surely RQ are going to respond in kind! or is this a protected Industry."
read above fully on QGBOTA website

I have been trolling the newspapers but very little coverage for such a big alleged crime. How many trotters were confiscated by RQ?

It is a Nutter to box Simon! (Hence it got boxed first) The door went up just before the lids opened, and cleared it's tail (no damage done). Don't think Col will put up with that much longer?
Good dog for Tassie!

10 years this September since Parklands closed, and Forbes and Racing Qld have NO intention of replacing the one turn track,I'll repost this in 3 months.and their lies about relocation of the Ipswich and Brisbane Clubs is NOT the $10,000,00 replacement for Parklands.for almost 10 years greyhound WELFARE has been neglected.

Thanks for that notice, Truck.
It goes right to the core of our problems and this group need as much support as possible to make a stand.

I have re-posted the article to QGBOTA thread as I think they really deserve their own and in the hope that ALL will get behind them and support them.

It's easy Truck.
Look learn & listen.

See that thing up the top of the page that contains this -

ww.greyhound-data.com/knowledge.php

That called a "SPACE BAR".

Now let's turn our attention to the thingy you use with your right hand. No not your d......stubby, that goes in your left hand when your on the computor. I'm talking about the thingy called a MOUSE.

Now move the MOUSE 'Arrow' into the 'Space Bar' as I've explained above.

Now with your 'Mouse', press the button on the 'Left' and it will change to 'Blue'

Now with your 'Mouse' again, press the button on the 'Right' & a drop down list will appear with -

Cut
Copy
Paste
Paste and go.

Move your 'Mouse arrow' down to 'Copy' and with your mouse 'Left Click'. That will copy the space bar address.

Now go back to G-Data press 'Reply', like you would normally do when you want to post a message.

Put the 'Mouse Arrow' anywhere inside the usual reply area & 'Right Click' & another drop list will appear just like last time.
Cut
Copy
Paste
Paste and go.

Move your 'Mouse arrow' down to 'Paste' and with your mouse 'Left Click'.

The address you just copied from the 'Address Bar' will appear. That's it.

Now with your left hand pick up your stubby & sink it, then get another.

Cheers Steve.

Since the amalgamation of the 3 codes in July 2010,6 racing ministers and their racing board lackeys have all denied greyhounds their replacement one turn track, they have denied greyhounds an equitable breeding scheme and they have denied greyhounds their market share,a complaint to the anti discrimination commission is long OVERDUE and well worth the QGBOTAs investigation.IMO.

There are thousands of greyhound owners trainers and breeders being discriminated against by this government,Racing Qld Board and their CEO,the QGBOTA on behalf of Qld greyhound stakeholders must lodge a complaint with the anti discrimination commission ASAP.jmo.

Racing in Queensland to benefit from additional $12 million

Racing Queensland has announced an additional $12 million in prize money will be injected annually into the industry in a move that will provide a major boost to all stakeholders.

The $12m increase will deliver an additional $8.6m to thoroughbred, $3m to greyhound and $400k to harness, which comes on top of the $3.2 million announced six months ago.

The increases will take effect on a pro-rata basis from 1 February 2018 and will provide immediate benefits to industry participants.

Racing Queensland CEO Dr Eliot Forbes said the new financial commitment follows the announcement by the Queensland government to commit $70 million to fund non-TAB thoroughbred racing in Queensland as a Community Service Obligation (CSO) over the next four years.

The governments CSO policy recognises the important benefits that thoroughbred non-TAB racing provide to rural communities and allows Racing Queensland to maintain the current size and scale of thoroughbred non-TAB racing across the state. With thoroughbred non-TAB racing funded by government, Racing Queensland is able to redirect $12m to prize money increases to commercial TAB racing, Dr Forbes said.

Metropolitan premier stakes races will be increased to $70,000 per-race from the current $60,000 while the two Saturday restricted grade races will now both carry minimum stakes of $40,000. Mid-week metropolitan races will also increase to $25,000, excluding maiden races.

Racing Queensland will also introduce a new formula for distribution of prizemoney for all races of $25,000 and above. This move will see increased stakes paid back to minor placed runners enhancing the distribution of funds across participants. The revised break‐up will see prizemoney to the winner reduced to 61% (previously 64%) with the balance to be allocated to horses placed second to fifth.

Provincial clubs at the Sunshine Coast, Gold Coast and Ipswich will have all maiden races boosted by $1000 to $15,000.

Regional provincial clubs will have standard stakes boosted by $2000 per race and northern feature carnivals will be increased by a total of $527,000 to be spread across carnivals from Rockhampton to Cairns.

Overall the additional money represents a 16.6% increase to metropolitan premier stake races while regional TAB races will see a 16 to 20% increase from their current stakes.

Dr Forbes said, Todays prizemoney announcement is another step forward in delivering on Racing Queenslands commercial plan to boost confidence and continue to bring meaningful benefits to industry participants.

From 1 July 2019, as forecast revenue increases materialise, Racing Queensland intends to introduce SEQ Provincial Showcase meetings with standard stakes raised to $20k and $18k for maiden races. Regional Provincial Showcase meetings will also be introduced with standard stakes raised to $18k and $16k for maiden races. It is also anticipated that midweek metropolitan maiden stakes will be raised to a minimum of $22,500 at this time.

While the Racing Queensland Board has taken into account the CSO funding package in allocating increases for participants, additional meaningful benefits arising from the Tabcorp Tatts combination have also played a part.

Racing Queenslands commercial plan had always targeted a significant increase in returns to participants but the Governments CSO and the Tabcorp Tatts merger have given us the ability to move quickly. The benefits have been distributed by also taking account of the commercial impact of each code of racing.

Dr Forbes said the greyhound code would also receive immediate additional funding in recognition of its strong commercial performance of recent years.

The code will benefit from a $3 million annual increase, which includes $800k for sustainability measures, an overall increase of 10% in prize money spread throughout all greyhound events, and an increase to the greyhound appearance fee to $40, he said.

The harness code will receive an additional annual $400,000 to assist with a commercialisation strategy to generate revenue. This will include additional races to help improve the overall profitability of the code and grow participation opportunities particularly at the grass roots level. Racing Queensland will also introduce a QBRED cash bonus scheme to further support the breeding and racing of QBRED eligible horses, offering additional cash bonuses to the eligible winners of selected races for the remainder of FY18.

It comes after Racing Queensland commissioned an economic impact study, which revealed the racing industry contributed $1.2 billion to the state economy per-annum, and generates 9500 full-time equivalent jobs with 42,000 either employed or engaged in the industry.

An increase of 10 percent in greyhound prize money is less than half of what Ian Hall stripped from greyhounds 3 years ago, what about a greyhound breeding scheme comparable to harness?and the one turn track Parklands replacement and total FOL to improve greyhound welfare NOW?
