Actually Sandro a lot of truth in what you say.
The Illawarra coast, the Lake and hinterland attracts a lot of holiday makers over the Christmas summer period.
Our biggest nights from the Supporters Club point of view were the pre Christmas and early new year periods. The raffles, especially for the bags of prawns sold very well.

So, an Administrator, Grant Carroll of GRNSW, goes down to Dapto from Richmond. He is the one who has been at Richmond for about 12 months. So, will Richmond get another one ? I believe that he received a 'helping hand' from someone only recently.

Did anyone, who reads stuff on here, go down to Dapto last night?

Mark , I go to Dapto every Thursday and the crowd last night was the largest in 12 month and the happiest I have seen in a long time. The roar when the dogs went onto the track for the first race was unbelievable it was like to go old days at Dapto .

Sandro is correct in everything he says without leaving himself liable.
Regular longtime participants to the Leisure Coast track (Where The Long Tails Race Under The Stars) know exactly what the problem has been and what this individuals real intentions have been for many years yet have been powerless to punt this person.
A late mentor of mine taught me years ago that, (excuse the pun) (That Shit always eventually floats to the top and all will be reveled).
A full government inquiry will get to the bottom of this, sure it will cost participants in the short term but the outcome should be worth it.
Fingers crossed a whistle blower step up and tell all.

Doug I think this is what everyone is hoping for and no one should be holding back as this is what they have waiting for years.Get this grub and his cronies/puppets and this club will be flying again.

GRNSW need to be commended in the way they dealt with the adversity to get the meeting underway.Clear sabotage of the power ,track preparation and getting kennels in order in just 1.5 hours. They even ensured travel subsidies were paid and Tony Meastrov showed great leadership and Im sure the court action will unveil impropriety.

Ken,

Perhaps so, but while I take no sides at this stage (due insufficient info) I am mystified as to how a racing authority can force a club to race when it does not want to. And what license was it racing under last night? Did GRNSW give itself a temporary one.

I would not take a lot of notice of the Supreme Court decision. In such circumstances it is common for the judge to call for the status quo to be maintained until the case is properly sorted out.

Bruce you do understand the Dapto Club was corrupted from within and you must be aware of the goings on at Dapto it's been going on for years..
Employing family as Staff will always be a conflict of interest so i dont get why the clubs do this .

When people start hiding computers and records you have to say they are ripping off the Greyhound Industry

This guy running the club is also a local Real Estate agent with his own personal agenda ..

Paying a local Electrician to destroy GRNSW assists tells its own tail THE GUY IS A DIRTY LOW LIFE GRUB and hopefully he will be charged

Personal agenda's Corruption and the Lies will be exposed i hope to see this guy prosecuted

Kevin,

I am astounded at your knowledge from such a distance. Whether it is relevant or not will emerge in the court - as will anyone who takes offense at your accusations (correct or not).

Besides, is it not the norm for clubs to be run as local fiefdoms? How many have been hauled over the coals over the last 20 years, and how many more should have been. How many have failed? How many have been shut down for whatever reasons? Are city clubs too powerful?

The industry structure is far from perfect, which is one of the reasons there are so many negatives at the moment - the damage is mostly self-inflicted. In short, the 1950s is having trouble negotiating the 21st century.

Sandro,

Re: "They don't want to move, they want to keep Thursdays

GRNSW have always wanted to align the city meetings to capitalize on the increased turnover on one of the main racing nights

It's a business decision, but one that doesn't suit Dapto apparently

It's no point having a history if you can't guarantee a future".

This is not a new subject. ON a previous attempt to move Dapto, the club protested that all their advertisers were geared to Thursdays and it would cost the club dearly if it had to move. They got away with it at the time even though that was a pretty lame justification. Then the Dapto President was also on the board of GRNSW (which would not be allowed now).

They did not say so but the multi-meeting program at capital city tracks on Thursday would also have helped with bookie and gambler numbers.

While I am no defender of GRNSW (even less of Dapto club), I have to say that if there is one thing it should control it is meeting dates. It is responsible for making decisions which best suit the whole industry, not just an individual club.

That said, Thursdays are OK but not brilliant. Friday and Saturday are easily the best. However, Sunday is equal worst of the week (together with Mondays), no doubt because family or other recreational activities get in the way. An overlapping point was that Dapto race times were often just after Sandown jumped, so diverting casual gamblers.

That was also why the original Wenty/Monday meeting was shifted so as to maximise income. Bulli got caught in the slipstream as well being dumped from its long useful Wednesday slot.

Anyway, I still don't understand how GRNSW can force DAHS to race when it does not want to, or at all. By Mestrov and DAHS statements, no agreement exists.

More twists and turns than a roller coaster. But so far, here's hoping the meetings are saved for the benefit of participants, while the factions go to war.

And won't it be interesting to see what washes up when investigators follow the money trail? There's something very very wrong with what has come from the Dapto A&H releases. The numbers just simply don't add up....
