I smell a rat. Tool the racing minister knows the S.F.F party are on to him for his country seat. The race will fire up the anti's. There may be a public backlash over the government partly funding the race. The opposition leader Luke Foley ( supposed friend of greyhound racing) has already stated his opposition to the funding.It again places the spotlight on re homing. It also takes the push for a fairer share of T.A.B funding, away from Tool the racing minister. This is just a bone we have been thrown and could have consequences Maureen Freaky was shown this afternoon on A.B.C with placards stating " I STAND WITH ANIMALS". I thought that was a hoot.

I'm also very confused as to the dates. According to the published group racing calendar Vic Peters heats are on at Wentworth Park that night, October 20. Open to the best 80 dogs.
How are they going to have 10 heats of the Vic Peters plus this race and its support card?

Greyhound Racing NSW CEO Tony Mestrov said all dogs that competed in the race would have to be re-homed, or kept as pets. If the prize-winning dog is killed, the owner has to pay back the $1 million.
1 Mill race ya gota be kidding share it what a waste that would be when we have so many tracks & Participants that could do with a boost. what now they want to compete with the like of the Everest & the Kosciuszko LOL Sure is great Publicity but lets get NSW back on track by fixing tracks & prize money first Just my opinion.

If I owned the winner of a million dollar race , two things would happen. If it was a dog Id put him to stud, a bitch Id put her in pup...either way theyd have a gold plated couch for life. No chance in hell theyd be going to GAP

Well well well I am sure the tax payers of NSW will be happy to sponcor half a mill when there are thousands living on the streets. Open your eyes and have a good look at these low lives who are trying to get another term in office and secure there pensions.
