The same dogs will turn up for $100k!!! $900K for advertising. Unless your got a Group 1-2 dog, why would you even bother. Buy $60 bucks worth of scratchies, you'll get around $20 back. Million Dollar night, someone needs to protest the amount of Money on offer to NSW Country Racing. PITYFULL $210 Maiden, $270 Graded Sorry to be negative, very appreciative of Ladbrokes

Youre right Terry.
Youre right Carly and Mick, but The Chase states differently. However, thedogs website calendar supports your argument i.e. Bathurst- Best 64. The same with Lismore,
Million Dollar Chase Regional Non-graded Heats 520m (As determined by nominations) (Best 64 (Any Grade)) Prize money: $1,700 / $520 / $395 Date of Final: 11 Sep 2018 Final Prize Money: $5,000
Just add it to the list of things GRNSW has not been clear on.

A Million dollar race is being held in Australia for the first time and as far as I know is the richest race in the world ever held for Greyhounds.
For God's sake get behind it and lets show the world that Australia is leading the way and making what was once just talk a reality.

Tony, I acknowledge and appreciate your opinion, but its a bitter pill to swallow when regional racing is a joke ! Lets see what they do for regional racing after this Big Race. As Eminem wrote, back to reality, oh there goes gravity.
The Million Dollar Chase is fine, but regional racing isnt.
I wish for a NSW trainer to win it ! Go NSW !

Mark,
This race is not about regional racing. This is about announcing to the world that racing in Australia is alive and well. It is a great answer to all that we have been though and it makes a statement to the world.
I now spend most of my time in mainland Europe and until this race came along a lot believed racing had ended in NSW and other states. This was due to the international coverage of greyhound racing being stopped. The announcement of this race has done a lot to internationally overcome this view and it really is something all Australians should support.
Yes there are many local issues that need addressing but connecting them to this race is not the way to go.
This race is being looked at internationally and in my opinion should be treated as an opportunity to impress the world.

This race is about Liberals trying to win back votes...nothing else...why would they put up $500,000 if they thought they were a shoe in, in the next election...It will only be a one off race so that's not announcing we're alive and well...only heard about this race on greyhound websites...and it's getting close...nothing on mainstream media about the heats...it will only impress the winning connections...and the freeloaders who turn up on the night masquerading as ' look what we're doing for you '...

Hi Grant,
To be honest I really am not interested in why a political party put up $500,000. At a time when greyhound racing worldwide needs a lift this race has been announced. It is like a breathe of fresh air which hopefully will give all greyhound enthusiasts around the world hope that one day their country may reach the heights that Australian racing has reached. Have a look at prizemoney and conditions in other countries and you will realise how lucky we are.
Yes we also have issues that need solutions but this is a different topic. Grant even though you are only seeing the details of this race on greyhound websites it is seen throughout the world. Greyhound-Data alone has members in 61 countries.

I said that I would not comment on this again because of the negativity...however, I must support your opinion Tony and the other strong supporters who are looking at the positive side, the world wide publicity and the placement of greyhound racing to the forefront with some poitiveity instead of the rear view mirror thinking that is seeing the sport wither on the vine. The old saying, do nothing and you are going backwards is very true and that is how we are going and fast. Everyone is in unison about the state of the sport across the board right now, there is so much to be done from the grass roots up, the drive to improve that must never stop, but it will never get off the ground at all if, as a majority, they dont support anything that offers a positive slant and free publicity via the media. If the sport is to save itself, all participants must take a positive attitude towards the future and massage every little spark that appears on the scene, to gain and win any thing takes a positive line. Nothing can ever be negotiated or won with argument, a scowl or a negative outlook of any kind, particularly when dealing with politicians & beaurocrats....thats our challenge and the real enemy in this fight.
