As we all know , this has become a major event. A huge range of products and services are showcased there every year.

Not surprisingly , Horse Racing Ireland have a stand there.

Equally , not surprisingly , the IGB don't .

The IGB were set up to promote and regulate our industry. They have failed on both counts.

The CEO of IGB , Geraldine Larkin , when asked at the start of her tenure ,what she knew about Greyhounds , said she was from a '' farming background '' .

Is it too much to expect then , that she would target such an event to promote our industry.

What a dreadful waste.

Agree 100% John.

There are approx 1500 business/organisation stands which cater for every walk of like. Very very disappointing especially when there is an expected footfall of 300,000 people.

I wonder why they are not there this year, as they were in 2014 & 2015 I believe. I see that the Irish Coursing Club have a stand.

It costs money to set up a stand at the ploughing and must be paid for in full beforehand.
Just as well they not at the ploughing the expenses sheet would be full

Any greyhound man or woman going to the ploughing match should take 5 minutes and make it their business to go and see Minister Doyle and ask him if he has faith in his current board you will be flabbergasted with his answer.

And a amazing chance to promote the Greyhound as a pet.....a couple of retired dogs on the stand would draw the crowds and help promote welfare......

What a dreadful waste.

No stand either this year, different year, same old story, we need new blood in the board with new ideas to promote the sport.
