Further back with Ginger in his sire line and wee sal in his damline surely there are a lot of options there for smart breeders to cash in.
When smart missile broke the track record at the gardens we had the second dog and although a strange feeling knowing our dog broke the previous record running second I knew there and then that the winner was a very talented speed dog.
Best wishes for connections and those who have a suitable bitch, give him a thought.
Facts are facts my opinion is based on how this sire line is producing here in Ireland plain and simple I'm not impressed am I alone I don't think so let the dog prove me wrong and if he does well won't it be pie in my face...
More rubbish, the truth is simple as we have shown throughout the thread Bombastic Shiraz was far from a failure in Ireland the number of bitches covered by Bombastic and his sons including Godsend is miniscule compared to what Top Honcho and other Temlee bred sire's have covered in the last decade. These are simple verified facts based on stats from the Igb and greyhound data.
Your opinion is based on a non justified non proven opinion. Tell us the group finalists you have bred What wonderful speed machines you have produced then I might value an opinion you put forward.
I can remember a previous post where you told us you were a kennel maid in a stud kennel where a particular dog was standing. And Lo and behold we find that this kennel at one time stood one of the Bombastic Shiraz sons that you destroyed on the thread. In fact the poor bugger ended up in China.
How come nitro burst only sired 500 odd ofspring think the poor bugger also ended up in China Brian if your basing someone's opinion to be right or wrong on the basis of what they have bred what in god's name are you doing babbling on here...your already with out knowing justifying the sire lines failure here in Ireland...you shouldn't have to justify it if it is as good as you think it is anyways with that I wish you luck with him and if he throws them I will be the first to say I was wrong and I will also use him I'm not and never did intend on knocking him Im just not gone on how the bombastic sire line is clicking here your dog was a very good race dog he is the first gran son to stand at stud here so who knows Iv said it several times my toughts are only my opinion but ye all went crazy...peace out no hard feelings...

we had better call a truce Bridget as we are going around in circles. What is interesting is that this year so far Godsend from 648 runners has a 16% win ratio and sits at number four in the Greyhound data stats for sires UK/Ireland. Compared to the four sires above him he has considerably less runners. Yet you will tell me I am sure that his sire line is a failure.

Hi Brian, Just letting you know that Jody is like a loaded gun here with a belly full of Smart missiles. She is due today and I will let you know later how many weapons of track destruction she has.

I watched this dog race and he could really, really run. The dog had some freakish speed and I think he will be a great stud dog. He's beautifully bred on top of it all

Godsend is a son of Bombastic Shiraz, he has two pups in the Top 100 performers in Ireland for 2017
A sire with a Spiral Nikita sire line has Zero dogs in that list
Just face it, Spiral Nikita sire line has not done well in its home country, but has done very well in Australia
It's a pretty simple fact, I know its hard for you to digest or process, but its black and white.
Winner of Thurles Fresh Milk Tipperary Cup 2017 Final
Also has Larkhill Jo sitting in the damline and dam by Hondo Black
With Hondo Black having USA lines as well as Premier Fantasy having USA lines there in lies the clue to Smart Missile
Use your Larkhill Jo line bitches and especially those who may have some USA blood to bind in with Premier Fantasy
As a reminder, one of our top sires here in Australia is Fabregas and he also has Larkhill Jo sitting in the damline as well as Head Hincho further back and has nicked well to Premier Fantasy, Spiral Nikita and Brett Lee bitches
Those who are thinking of using Smart Missile, start checking your pedigrees of your broods and if they carry Larkhill Jo, Spiral Nikita, USA lines, Brett Lee and Head Honcho lines

I don't normally buy into these sorts of arguments and I have nothing to do with Smart Missile other than to admire the pedigree that was put together to produce him (and his outstanding litter sister Duna Runna a Group placegetter and VERY fast Wentworth Park winner)
Yes, he is in-bred 3x3 to the litter brothers Black Shiraz and Big Ginger Boy.
BUT, the real strength of his pedigree is that Nitro Burst, his sire, and the very good producer Oh Behave (his 2nd dam) are bred on an identical cross ... from the sireline of brothers and out of dams by Hotshot. What this did was reduce the gene pool greatly to common and dominant ancestors to produce a Group star. And it brought in Nitro Burst and Oh Behave 1x2 and positioned to HUGELY influence upon the resultant offspring (Smart Missile and his classy sister).
But there is MUCH more to it that just that. Both Nitro Burst and Oh Behave trace directly to the same broodbitch Marungi Girl. This, of course, is the famed direct damline of Brett Lee and Big Daddy Cool and I doubt ANYONE can argue they have been a huge influence upon pedigrees in Ireland. I would think Smart Missile should be mated to bitches with as much Brett Lee or Big Daddy Cool in their pedigree as possible. Nitro Burst's other great race dog Zambora Brockie has a cross of Trendy Leigh (litter brother to Brett Lee) in his damline so is thus bred on the same Marungi Girl reinforcement as Smart Missile.
But, my belief on the reason why Smart Missile can also be a success at stud in Ireland is also based around his damsire Premier Fantasy who is powerfully positioned to impact upon any and every mating Smart Missile has.
You should know that Premier Fantasy is hugely in-bred to both the Skipping Chick family (via his sireline through Skelligs Tiger) and Daleys Gold in his damline, but also carries Wise Memory and Murlens Chill who are from the very same female family. When both of these lines were reinforced within a pedigree it produced Fear Zafonic the English Greyhound of the Year, but many, many of Premier Fantasy's best progeny are bred along these themes.
Ireland and England are SATURATED with the bloodlines of both these families so it will be very easy to bring it to the fore via matings to Smart Missile. This is what it is all about when importing stud dogs. There should be common links to a great number of the families found in the stud dog's new home. Top Honcho appeared to be a complete outcross, but trace his direct damline and you come to the same female family as Pigalle Wonder etc ... which is EVERYWHERE in Ireland and England.
I would think Smart Missile would be ideal for mating to daughters of Kinloch Brae as well to bring in a powerful cross of the genetic brother Fortress and Murlens Slippy. This is a cross found in Kinloch Brae's top class son Ballymac Vic (sire of 1st and 3rd in the recent G1 English Derby).
I do not believe the Bombastic Shiraz influence in Smart Missile is his PLUS for success in Ireland. It matters nought in regards to his chances of success at stud in Ireland. But, Premier Fantasy certainly does. Ireland and England are absolutely saturated with the bloodlines of Premier Fantasy and it was a very wise person, whomever it was, who imported him for stud there.
On the racetrack he was a flying machine winning a Group race and running a track record and being of the highest standard of race dog in Australia.
Food for thought!

I'm sorry, I have not done so for Dyna Villa.
Like Smart Missile, he carries an import (Droopys Vieri) as his damsire. Because he is in-bred 3x3 and balanced via son and daughter to Light Of Fire in his pedigree, it means he should mate bitches with lots of the bloodlines of Droopys Vieri or Rumble Spirit in them. Which means Dyna Villa would best be served standing at stud in Ireland where Droopys Vieri and his famous bloodlines are dominant. And, his direct damline runs to a bitch by Curryhill Brute the brother to Curryhills Fox (in Spiral Nikita) and Skelligs Tiger (everywhere in bloodlines in Ireland).
I have noticed a number of promising types by Dyna Villa starting to hit the track. There is a city winning litter in Qld bred by Daryl McGrath showing promise.

Dorotas Wilcat winner of English Derby from another hot dog Droopys Verve \ CLICK HERE He looks like Token Prince head on photo. CLICK HERE
Smart Missile showed why he is regarded as one of the fastest young greyhounds in the country with a stunning display that saw him secure top billing for Thursday nights $61,000 Speed Star.
In the final qualifying trial of the series the Gardens 515m track record holder scorched around Sandown Park, carving out impressive 5.10, 18.60 sectionals before coming home in 10.48 and stopping the clock at 29.080, despite having never seen the circuit previously.
Hes obviously pretty quick, hopefully he can find a little bit after having his first look, said dual Melbourne Cup winning trainer Jason Thompson who will be looking after the greyhound during his Victorian campaign.
It was Thompsons first look at Smart Missile in race conditions, but the leviathan 36.5kg chaser gave every impression of being capable of putting in a good time.
I trialled him at Healesville on Tuesday and he went quicker than Ive ever had a dog go up there.
He arrived last week and settled in really well at home, he came down in good order.
And his trainer Jason Mackay said hes the fastest dog hes had. It looks like hes spot on.
Smart Missile deposed Kayda Shae as the top ranked chaser, a position hed held for little more than an hour after trialling 29.126.

I'm not amazed he hasn't served more bitches Sandro Clearly he is a VERY fast animal but his 2 race starts in the big smoke were less than flattering. In saying that I have liked what I see in his limited amount of pups on the ground but would want to wait just a bit longer to see if he can consistently produce city class dogs. (unfortunately that may be hard with the lack of bitches)
