Rex I would ask the vet what are the chances of getting the ligaments stitched together and the joint either pin fired or cemented, taking the joint off is a very last resort and an easy option rather than maybe the right one. Good luck.

Excellent, hope all goes well. I'm heading to my vet on Sunday to ascertain whether my girl's toe has repaired sufficiently for her to be put back into work.

Toe has healed well thanks Rex. I gave her a slip up Appin last Thursday and as fate would have it she decided to come on season. Oh well, another couple of weeks on the sidelines will probably only assist the healing process. How's your bloke coming along after his op?

Hi Rex
Obviously hindsight is a great thing. Can see you've been through all this a few years ago now be interested to hear how things turned out and what the end result was as to the dog returning to racing successfully or not? Thanks

Barry, I haven't seen Rex on this site for a long time, so you may not get an answer from him.
