Yes Glenn I am a bit excited about this dog. Good turn of foot. He has already broken three first section track records including a 4.83 at sandown and 8.11 at Warragul but has not shown that yet in his races. When it clicks and with maturity and he puts it all together I think there is a good race in this boy. And I can't wait for his brother to run.

Thanks to all who have followed up the offer to use Banjo Boy in NSW FOC (frozen only).

Reconfirming there are no catches other than the bitch is on season and we will not replace the straw if there are 4 pups or less which are our standard terms.

And for he who asked we will not pay for the cost of the insemination if the bitch misses.

That aside he has now got 11 litters just two years of age or over.

Of these bitches only two had thrown a city winner over 500m or more previously to other stud dogs.

To date three of the first 11 bitches have thrown winners at Sandown/Meadows or Wentworth Park over 500m to Banjo Boy with indications of a few more to come.

He has also produced 28 individual winners so far with many more nearing racing age in the next 3 - 4 months and good reports coming in.

Another winner for Banjo Boy, Lil' Miss Banjo at Sandown today & a wet track over 515m in an impressive 29.82 for a maiden,
I think she's a star in the making.
Congratulations Bernard Seymour & Andrew Varasdi

Thanks branko and michael.

There is a lot behind this little girl winning today. For what it is worth I am going to put it down cause it means a lot so if you don't want a story move on.

I remember seeing a data thread for the dam asking for sire recommendations. It was placed by the late Stephen cairns (rip) who I got to know.

What a great fellow. Anyway we chatted and he agreed to lease her to me to put to banjo boy. Great dam line. That was despite a failed first litter to mantra lad that I forgave. She had a young litter at the time to collision which has been ??

Anyway I then tried to sell a few pups. I put $1,200 on them and a few offered me $500. I thought no so I offered them to Bernard Seymour no money upfront knowing he would give them every chance. We chatted about what the matings strengths may be and he took two girls. I have known Bernard for 4 or 5 years now and was thrilled he agreed to take them.

Bernard you are a good fellow. You had a great dog sir prize who sadly had his career cut short.

I hope you had a great day. You have a nice promising girl and all that after a fall
Last start. She chases dam hard and i know her sister does too. So well done.

And I am sure Stephen would have loved it.

I have recently completed a review of the performance of stud dogs for pups whelped from July 2014 to October 2014 making the youngest pups studied 25 months of age. The reason was because I wanted, as best I could, a like for like comparison of how BANJO BOY was performing against sires regarded as being the best in the land.

In doing this review I went into fasttrack and clicked on the form of every pup born (yes around 1,500 dogs).

I believe my numbers are accurate, but stand corrected if I have missed something. These numbers were done at a point in time, so again, even since I did them they will have changed no doubt with more pups winning for various sires.

July and August numbers were done early October and September and October whelpings reviewed mid October.

In short the results were astonishing to me and everyone else I have shared them with.

I broke it down into three stats, winners at Sandown, Meadows or Wenty over 500m or more, all other winners (anywhere and any distance) and number of brood bitches served who had in a previous litter produced a group finalist.

Of the sires I reviewed and sires with more than 50 pups on the ground from that period, BANJO BOY ranked third behind Bella Infrared and DJays Octane on the percentage of winners to pups born at Meadows, Sandown or Wenty over 500m or more.

Bella Infrared 10.17% (of all of Bella's pups born won a race of 500m or more at one of these three tracks to the date I completed the review), Djays Octane 7.58% and Banjo Boy 5.26%.

He rated second as a percentage of overall winners to pups whelped behind Magic Sprite.

Magic Sprite 34% (of all pups whelped to the point in time I completed the review had won a race you could bet on somewhere), Banjo Boy 33.33% and Fabregas 30.88%.

Again please remember these numbers were done at a point in time so they will have changed but the manual way this has to be done makes it impossible to have time to review 1,500 dogs every week. This was completed on 15 October.

Banjo Boy had no bitches who had previously produced a group finalist. the leaders on those stats were, Collision 10, Fabregas and Barcia 9 each and Magic Sprite 8.

So we are confident that BANJO BOY is upgrading bitches.

For NSW breeders the offer of a free service to Christmas stands.

To anyone else we offer a pup guarantee to four pups. 0 - 2 money back less 10% or free return, 3 or 4 pups free frozen straw only.

We hope he is on his way to being the best value stud dog in the country which we want him to be.

And with more great reports coming of young pups we hope breeders have confidence to use him.

Thanks

Andrew

Great work Banjo Boy & a great promotion for NSW breeders who need to get breeding!
I think it won't be too far away for BB to throw a group winner

Hi Andrew so your saying he's 2nd to only Magic sprite??? Based on winners to pups whelped??? THATS A MASSIVE EFFORT.

Andrew it's hard to believe he has better stats than Fabregas, Collision, Barica bale.
Are you sure your stats are correct. Have you got stats for other leading sires so we can compare???

If these stats stack up for would hate to think what his stats might be if he was to get some top Broodie's like the leading sires get.

Andrew Bandjo must have got some pretty handy and proven broodies then??

Hi Darren,

Lot's of questions and your immediate reaction is as mine was. Again I stress I have done the numbers manually and to a point in time.

But that is what it was.

Yes he was second to Magic Sprite on % of total winners to pups whelped in that period to that point in time.

By my numbers, after the top three came Bella Infrared at 28.81%, Barcia at 28%, Cosmic at 26.56%, Djays Octane 22.73%, Collision 21.57% Don't Knocka him 16.92% Shakey 9.38%.

On percentage of winners at those three named city tracks (San, Mead and Wenty) of pups whelped next was Collision 4.41% and Cosmic 4.15%, Barcia 3.88%, Magic Sprite 2.02% and the rest under 1.5% to the point in time I did the review.

All sires had different numbers of pups, ranging from Fabregas the most at 272 whelped to Banjo Boy at 57.

Four sires had over 200 pups whelped n the four month period.

I think two of Banjo's bitches had previously thrown a city winner. One had thrown one and the other two, so I reckon he has done OKAY producing those numbers.

AGAIN I WANTED TO SEE HOW BANJO STACKED UP. TO LET BREEDERS KNOW HOW HE WAS GOING.

SEEMS OK AND IT MAY LOOK COMPLETELY DIFFERENT TODAY FROM WHEN I DID THE ANALYSIS BECAUSE IT IS AN EVOLVING THING AND THE YOUNGEST PUPS IN THIS PERIOD ARE JUST OVER TWO.

From early successful mating's, bitches carrying:

Where's Pedro, Bombastic Shiraz & Spiral Nikita seem to be nicking well to him

That could all change with more litters coming on stream

Hi Andrew i guess most breeders don't go into stats like you have produce. It's hard to believe your boys sitting 2nd when you mention dogs like Fabregas, Barcia, Collision.

Good luck mate he must be the best priced stud dog out there. It will be interesting over the next 6 to 12 months to see how his pups go.

I have heard there's been a couple of Banjo's pups running some smart times.

Thanks Darren,

All good and I am sure the numbers will change a lot. I notice since I did July Collision has produced a few more maiden winners at those tracks but it gave me a good idea as to where we were at right at that point.

I won't do it often, too timely. Like you I hear things and I just hope some of the trial times I am being told are right and are produced with new pups as they hit the tracks.

be well.

Hi glen, been a great few days for sure. You forgot Bernard's dog lil miss banjo.

She is a tough little thing. Times on most were terrific too. I was thrilled to see banjo shark today win well for me. He has a future in my opinion over time with age and maturity. 19.11 at Healesville first go and only .04 off track sectional record was a good first effort.

And the angle park winner. 29.80 and 5 from 6. Going well. And mint boy pretty quick too.

Best of all I can't wait for then next month. Expect to see some special ones soon.

Plenty of winners .... Highly encouraging for his "supporters".

Our first ones are about 3 months from breaking in ... Counting down with eager anticipation!
