I am interested in finding current sires, sires I can reasonably expect to find a straw for, with the highest saturation of BLACK SHIRAZ.

This could come through either Primo Uno or Bombastic Shiraz, not fussed at all.

Wanted for.

I would love to use WALK HARD but the double of Spiral doesn't appeal to me.

Andrew,

You can do this via the "testmating" module.
There are 128 sires with Black Shiraz in their pedigree.

Grab yourself a coffee and work your way through them.

Impressive stat tony. OK trying it. Never realised I could do that. Probably never looked that hard to be honest. Love it thanks - new there was a simpler way than what I was doing. Gotta love Data.

Topic sorted.

Very few matings but has thrown a group 1 finalist

All depends if you're trying to sell Andrew or keep to race

Hi Mark, it is certainly getting tougher to pick sires and will keep getting tougher. So many choices and so many we never know how good they might be. I will be Keeping the lot bar one I will give to someone who has helped me out heaps.

At a quick glance the two I like (if looking to saturate Black Shiraz) are Thirty Talks CLICK HERE and Hostile CLICK HERE the reason being their dams create a nick with Black Shiraz at a very high percentage through different individuals within 5 generations.

If you are willing to work through this using the blood quota table below his dam Unfinished CLICK HERE recreates Black Shiraz through different individuals other than Black shiraz himself in Unfinished's pedigree. So we have Eaglehawk Star(behind Placid Dove)Temlee Waverly Supreme(in JTB's ped for example),Waverley Supreme & Sabby's Image(behind Malawi), Monalee Champion (in Credibility's pedigree),and Temlee & Mandalass(in Flying Amy's pedigree. The only lines that aren't covered in 5 generations are Gingers damline (Main Model) and Gruelling Point (Shamrock Point's damline).

If you look at the 5th generation of Black Shiraz 14 of the 16 dogs are saturated through different indviduals other than Black Shiraz in Unfinished's pedigree which means you are replicating 88% (14/16) of Black Shiraz pedigree.

When those dogs, Eaglehawk Star, Temlee, Waverley Supreme, Sabby's Image, Monalee Champion and Mandalass come together within the one damline it has the ability to create a great deal of intensity within a pedigree, as evidenced with Black Shiraz.

Similarly Hostiles dam Restless Style CLICK HERE recreates Black Shiraz at an extremely high 94% and thankfully much easier to read. If you look at the blood quota table below you'll see Monalee Champion and Mandalass also cross duplicated, and all you are left with in the 5th generation 'not saturated' is Gruelling Point, so Restless Style has individuals that cover 15 of 16 lines(94%), of Black Shiraz pedigree within 5 generations.

Both these dams Unfinished & Restess Style saturate Black Shiraz at very high percentages.

Now looking at another angle Andrew, I'd think about trying to recreate a staying type as super stayer Why Complain was from this line. To do that suggest you wld need to recreate his sire Worthy Reward through a sires damline just like the above.

Good luck whichever way you decide to go. Cheers

Thought there would be more out there with double cross of Black Shiraz. My Redeemer seems like the best option.
