This is very sad news.

Funds are still available in the Greyhound-Data Irish Fighting fund to help owners, trainers, staff or the track if they find themselves in financial difficulty due to the track closing.

If you need assistance please do not hesitate in emailing me direct [email protected] All correspondence will be kept confidential.

I am sorry for all concerned.

If there's money available I think some should go to the local rehoming programme as I think if the track is not reopened in the near future these people are going to be very busy

Click mate, if you do not meet with the administrators this week will it be possible to have an open meeting with all concerned of Drumbo to put all our heads together for ideas and advice how we go about getting control of Drumbo Park?
There are a lot of smart professionals around Drumbo Park dog track who are all for getting the track back.
First proposal Id like to see would be members to pay 5 a week to get moneys in the bank so when we do see administrators theres prove that money is available for insurance, maintenance etc
Keep up the good work click

Could the person who clicked to disagree elaborate on what they disagree with please, is it having an open meeting? Or paying a fiver a week to help run the track?

Someone goes around most threads and just hits the disagree button. Probably don't even read anything.

Probably no good now but I always thought the 5 membership fee wasn't alot for the year. Surely every member wouldn't mind paying 50/100 a year to help the track pay prize money etc. Sure one win in the year and u would have it back.

Dean,I think a fiver a month would have been a good idea, another thing I would have done, was close the owners and trainers hut, apart from the greyhound folk who brought the milk and tea in, nobody was spending anything in downstairs bar etc, also people where going in kennel entrance after first race and not paying in,if track opens again, there is a load of things, will have to change,if there is any chance, the supporters club could open it again, every penny will have to be accounted for, imo

Jim your 100% right ! Agree totally about free loaders, hey Im a troublemaker for making suggestions and questioning how things are run! But have a open meeting and let everyone who has an opinion speak. Im sick of all the wee clicks. People from the outside are coming up with all sorts of rumours so can someone from the committee answer a post on here! Your very quick to say how well the track is going. Now is the time to be straight with everyone PLEASE?

Michael, I didn't realise, there were 44 people working full time and part time at drumbo, no business could sustain those losses, with some of the crowds, that were coming through the doors, some Friday nights I was there, the crowds were sparse, you would have thought, that by going down to one night, with a thirteen rce card and cutting some staff , would have been worth while trying first, they had long enough to try something like that, its going to take somebody with a lot of money and business brain to open up again, what's other people's opinions

Jim you wouldnt have needed my A-Level in Business Studies to see that lol.
I speak every day through my business to Drumbo doggie men and their as frustrated as me. The over staffing issues Jim would be the first thing a business man taking the place over would look at ; that is why I suggested getting support from igb to provide a racing manager and deputy at least wed have something for our money from icc and wages saved. Restaurant could run a lot More efficiently by doing a cavery setup, even I could cook that! I know personally speaking when Ive been upstairs the food is too good tbh, like me most people are on the drink and just want the stomach lined lol. Simple thinks can make a big difference. My only fear is if the boys can get the track opened therell be no change and itll not move forward. Ive close to 100 dogs so its in my best interest that the track reopens asp
My opinion is worth no more or less than the man who has no dogs but supports the track. Would love to see some of the guys have a voice

Michael, there are loads of things, I used to see and I would to myself, how the fxxk can they keep this up, was there any need for allthose doormen, for a start, where they paying for food they were eating, I don't want the office staff yo take this personally, but was there three racing managers, still say one night, with more races, less staff, I would personally pay 10 for a trial, as it will cost me more to travel now, I'm only a two dog, at anyone time man, it's easy for me to say that, I know, getting back to the door men, two on front and two upstairs, anybody showing up drunk, turn them away, limit group bookings, have a lead person on booking and if anyone cause trouble or damage done, they are responsible, what to their people think, don't be sitting in silence, lol

Things are happening behind the scenes but we just have to let it take its course... Derry have said they will put an extra night on to help out but up onto now very few have taken them up... lets keep racing in the north going
