Every time I go into a dogs pedigree and my mouse goes over the link to look for common ancestry I get a POP UP to disable my adblocker and go to a website to install some software

I don't know if anyone is experiencing this but it is very annoying

I have emailed Admin but have got no response

You're not on your own Sandro.

I'm just sticky taping the screen after head butting it......

Sandro, you need to disable your adblocker for this site. They are all different but mine is on the right of the address bar. If you clean your internet cache or a programme automatically does that, you will have to disable the adblocker again.
BTW, there are some interesting ads...my favs usually feature scantily dressed ladies...nice distraction from some of the dribble that continues of late.

I have done this a no of times Michael, cleaned cache etc but it still pops up. I even totally deleted the adblocker program from my PC to no avail.

What Sandro is talking about is if you place your cursor over a dogs name in the blood quota table below the pedigree the adbloker mssg still comes up.

G/data needs to delete their adblocker pop up until they have a fix for this problem before they re load it. I requested this 9 days ago in a PM to Brett but still no response.

To say its annoying is an understatement !

Ryno, the point I was making is if you clean the cache you erase the memory to allow ads.
As far as deleting the programme and it still blocks...well buggered if I know.
Perhaps someone more IT savvy could help?

Hi Sandro,

I haven't seen an email from you. Without google adverts showing the website would not continue. Those using adblockers are not supporting the website. We are currently setting this up so that all paid Gold members will not see google adverts.

At the end of the day we need the website and our job is to do whatever it takes to ensure Greyhound-Data stays online.

Hi Ryan,

Brett would not have input into this side of the website. All emails should be sent to [email protected]

My apologies Sandro, your 2nd email landed into my box 1 hour ago. I did not see the first one. I can only assume another member of the team opened it and has not answered it as yet. On average we receive over 100 emails per day.

Have you disabled your adblocker for GD? or is the problem you have disabled it but are still seeing the message?

Tony

I totally understand the need for the Google adverts but this particular ad for AdBlocker takes over the whole of the screen

I really don't care about the small ads along the side or down the bottom, they don't interfere your viewing of the web page

But Adblocker's ad basically taking control of the web page

Surely that isn't the intentions of it?

Welcome!
It looks like you're using an ad blocker. That's okay. Who doesn't?
But without advertising-income, we can't keep making this site awesome.

Please click here after you have disabled your adblocker on this site

So, what you are saying, if I disable my adblocker for GD this won't pop up?

Hi Tony

I originally sent my first PM to Brett on 1/9, he replied on the 7/9 saying "I did send the information to our IT person to check, I have cased him up again, we have never come across this. Is this still occurring?"

To which I replied it was, and going by the posts above, clearly it still is.

I then sent him a follow up PM 2 dys later to which I have no reply. I'm not sending anymore emails, they know about it and don't appear to be doing anything.

Perhaps they can open another account for me and I'll open another email address - may be the only solution, unless you guys want to provide the fix.Cheers.

Malcolm thx but that ublock doesnt work for me - but then again I cldn't find the last step 'then click red "inline scripts" '

Sandro, I have just spoken to out I.T. and all is working fine. You would need to refresh the page for the your ad blocker to take effect. If you have no joy with this can you please let us know which ad blocker you are using so we can test it, thanks.

Hi Ryan,

I have a bit more influence over the priority of our I.T. guys than Brett :)

I don't full understand all this I.T. jargon but changing your account may not work as I think the ad blocker attaches itself to your browser. Let me know what adblocker you are using and I will put it to out I.T. to try to find a solution.

Rightio then...I'd like to join the choir of "This is ridiculous".

I've just gone to check some breeding and bingo, the same whole screen announcement appears.
It did with me a few times in the past but I made my AVG adblocker allow this site.
NOW, the adblocker is still allowing ads but this sign pops up every time I check the breeding.
Refreshing the page gets rid of it until you view another breeding, then bingo, it's up again.

It's akin to having a nail stuck in your boot.
